Copy and Paste + 'æøå äöü'
when adding a comment in the Guestbook.

To prevent spam, the minimum time to add a comment in the guestbook was set to 5 seconds.

This prevented the persons who used copy and paste or auto complete, to add their comment, name, e-mail, etc... An error message showed up.

This is now fixed !

Now you can use the special characters again - like 'æøå äöü', etc., without the whole message is being deleted or that an error message shows up when you are clicking on the Submit / Preview buttons.

Also this is now fixed !

To prevent problems, I have also modified some other settings.

Many thanks to Silje-Anita, who made me aware of this problem ! Smiley

Automatic Translation
drop-down box not working in Firefox

If the 'Select Language' drop down menu box is not working, it can be a Firefox extension called FlashBlock that is causing the problem.

To resolve this, you have to disable or remove this Add-on and click on Restart Now.. (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions > FlashBlock > Disable/Remove > Restart Now)

As a good alternative, you can install SmartVideo For YouTube 0977. Also this Add-on prevents YouTube-videos to start automatically.

Tip: After installing, go to Options and select your preferences...

Good news :
Some old & lost Guestbook comments restored !

I've now been able to recreate some of my old Guestbook comments.
I could use my auto-reminder e-mails that my Guestbook / MySQL database sends to me when a new comment is made.

Regretfully many e-mails & comments were lost, but I'm happy that I could find and use at least some of them. Smiley

The Automatic Translaton on this webpage should now function again !

With a new javascript, new css-rules, and some other changes in the coding, I was able to get it to work and to integrate it in my existing webpage design.

Google stopped translation service

Google has shut off the free third party translation service (API support) from December 1. 2011.

This was the service I have used and integrated on my website, so that means a lot of extra hours work to find a good replacement for that. Not only the function itself, but also the integration in my current webpage-design (css-styling, etc.) will be a challenge.

But, I will find a solution, with or without Google :-)

Two new pages under 'Extras'

Proverbs :

This page took a lot of work to finish. And it is finally W3C conform (= follows the rules of the World Wide Web Consortium). Several scripts and some CSS-coding is used to get it to work under this website's basic design, which also includes the liquid layout (adjustable page width).

But, in the end it seems to functions least under Firefox 5*+ and Internet Explorer 9*+.

The manual translation to norwegian and german will follow shortly.

Puzzle :

Also on this page some changes in the original coding was nessecary to get it to work and to get it W3C conform.

The new updated webpage is "online"

The old webpage was outdated, so I had to rebuild a new webpage from scratch. Both the design, the structure, the css- and the html-coding is now more "contemporary".

Compared to the old website, there are still some pages missing, but I'll include these as soon as I can. On the other hand, I have included more pictures in the galleries.

Web-host problem

Due to problems with the old web-host/server ( they were suddenly closed down ) I had to move to a new web-host.

Sadly, my web-site was unavailable for some weeks, and the old Guestbook-entries (in the old web-host's mysql-database) were also lost...

But, now the web-site is "online" again and a new Guestbook is open for new comments smiley a5 big grin

Pictures from numbers and formulas

I've now added two new picture galleries – Gallery 5 and Gallery 6.
( ... from 2011 included in the Formulas galleries)

The pictures in these galleries are very different from my previous ones as you probably will see.

Since the colours, paper and easel were not always so easy accessible when I found the time to do some painting - and also when I was out travelling -, I started to do some experimenting on my laptop computer to see if there were other ways to be creative.

After trying different methods, the technique to transform mathematical formulas and equations into pictures caught my attention.

Part of this process was to combine mathematical formulas - most often the fractal formulas -, different colouring algorithms and parameters, plus the use of several layers with different merge modes.

Some of the results of this experimenting are what you can see in these galleries.

Feel free to send me a comment if you want.

My website is on the net.

As a “newbie” in the world of computers, I had to start from “scratch” to figure out what programs I needed and how to use them.

I’m sure there will be made some “adjustments”, but... after months of experimenting with different programs, this site is basically ready.

Enjoy your stay & thanks for your visit,
